Yay, everyone who chimed in last week! Thank you all for speaking up!
This week's question:
Last week, we talked about what music we're making. This week, let's talk about the music we wish we were doing more (feel free to add 'and why' or 'and why it's not happening right now' or whatever else you want to that, but don't feel obliged.)

Date: 2009-05-12 11:29 am (UTC)I've just began taking piano lessons again, and I'm doing GREAT this time, 'cos my teacher is awesome, not a drunk closet-case... The lessons are all based on improvisation, and each class I receive new notes, chords and sometimes full scales to improvise. It's been AWESOME... I already have two chords and can play almost the entire Dorian mode scale, as well as two pentatonic scales and the whole-tone Hexatonic. Now I just wish I could put lyrics and I knew how to make it happen. I feel just SO BLOCKED!!

Date: 2009-05-12 01:19 pm (UTC)I would like to be improving my tenor sax playing, but I'm waiting for a carpal tunnel operation. The descant recorder is my saviour at this time - totally different sound, but at least I can hold the weight of it!

Date: 2009-05-18 03:47 pm (UTC)I want to be playing harp more often. I want to be singing more often. I want to be *writing* music more often (I have three beginnings of songs in progress, just need to decide where they're going.)
Time's a big issue for me, but I'm taking steps to make that better. (My job stuff has settled into something more predictable, plus, since I'm a school librarian, I'm coming up on two months off over the summer, which never hurts. Currently deciding how to make best *use* of that time.)
